Onward to the forest roads route begins to gain elevation, around mile 2 it is up up up- a moment of flat route to catch your breath then up again for another couple miles, medium grade, most challenging part of the course, steady and slow will get you to the crest. Around mile 7 you’ll reach the top, views of Spanish Peak, American Valley and the canyon, elevation 5,600 ft. At mile 8 the decent begins, mellow down grade. You’ll run through meadows, dip in and out of the forest. At mile 10 you’ll cross Bella’s Creek (will there still be water come August? We’ll let you know two weeks before the race), then continue towards a zig into the Classic Route and a zag onto Dixie Canyon for a swift run to the finish line.
