How We Select Projects |

PROJECT AREAS: RECENT PROJECTS: |
Our community-based projects are initiated through relationships with staff, Advisory Council members, and other community partners. We believe that an open "Request for Proposals" can sometimes exclude underserved communities who don't have a lot of experience with grants. If your community is facing a forest-related issue and you would like to explore how to investigate and grow community capacity to address it, please contact Jonathan Kusel or Katie Bagby at the Pacific West Center or a member of our Advisory Council in your neck of the woods. After initial conversations to see if the PWCFC's services and the community's idea are a good fit, the community presents their idea and how they want to accomplish it to the Advisory Council. The Advisory Council decides what community-based projects will receive support. Our staff-directed research projects help us advance the Center's four issue areas. They are initiated in response to Advisory Council guidance, staff interests and skills, and needs and opportunities for collaboration in the region. If you have an idea for staff-directed research, please contact Jonathan Kusel, Katie Bagby or an Advisory Council member. |
